CHRISTINE BARCLAY     Owner & Artistic Director


Christine, originally from just outside of Boston in Massachusetts, received her BA in Theatre with a double concentration in Performance and Direction from Muhlenberg College before moving to New York City. While in NYC, Christine worked as a Director/Choreographer for Tada! Youth Theatre and the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center. She assisted Marc Tuminelli, founder of The Broadway Workshop (nominated Best Theatre Program in NYC) in orchestrating his business, professional workshops and shows. She was a resident member of the theatre faculty for the Rodeph Sholom School in Manhattan. Christine performed with the Gallery Players of Brooklyn and directed, choreographed and facilitated workshops at multiple theaters and schools including The Kew Forest School, The Manhattan School for Children and The Looking Glass Theatre where her directorial work was lauded by the New York Times as one of the company's production “highlights”. Christine moved to Florida in 2012 to work for the nationally acclaimed and award-winning StarStruck Academy & Theatre in Stuart where she served as a Director, Choreographer, Acting instructor (voted Best Drama Lessons in Martin County),  Musical Theatre, Hip-Hop and Creative Movement instructor.  Christine taught the Bridges Montessori School and Pine School Performing Arts enrichment programs. During her 3 years at StarStruck, Christine also served as the facility’s Academy Administrator, Events & Box Office Manager, and resident Stage Manager for their 2012-2013 season which received 8 nominations and 5 BroadwayWorld awards for the greater Orlando area.  In addition to favorite performance credits including Pistache, (CAN CAN) and Kim Macafee, (BYE BYE BIRDIE), Christine has directed, choreographed, stage-managed and performed in countless productions throughout New York City, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, and Pennsylvania. Favorite directorial and choreography credits include; HELLO DOLLY!, WILLY WONKA Jr., TARTUFFE, ALADDIN Jr., ANNIE,  PROPERTY RITES, THE BEAR, BROADWAY COMPOSER SERIES, THE ODYSSEY, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, INTO THE WOODS Jr., SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE! and GUYS AND DOLLS. She has students currently on National Tours, International Tours, in BAK Middle School, Dreyfoos High School, and attending top-tier conservatories and universities pursuing degrees in theatre. Christine believes in the power of utilizing the performing arts as a tool to help students of all ages “find their voice” and while doing so, to guide them to become creative, confident, tolerant and passionate members of our communities. Christine founded BARCLAY Performing Arts in January of 2016 and dedicates her company to the memory of her late and amazing Director Dad who always found a way to bring out the very best in each and every person whether on the stage or behind the scenes. 

Chris Evans (Set Designer) is a New Yorker who went to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he received a BA in Scenic Design. He has spent over 20 years working in television, film and theatre. His work includes Dawson’s Creek, Elmo in Grouchland and promos for HBO, as well as running his own theatre company, and designing and building sets for more than 100 plays including Singin’ in the Rain, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Little Shop of Horrors, 9 to 5, Grease, Shrek, Legally Blonde, The Drowsy Chaperon and Aladdin Jr. He now works as the full time Scene Shop Manager at Florida Atlantic University.
